Ever needed a legitimate excuse to go surfing? Well on June 20, 2009 you’ve got one: International Surfing Day. The unofficial surfer’s holiday gives us a chance to promote and celebrate surfing while bringing awareness to the state of our oceans and beaches.
The goal is simple: take the day, or at least part of the day, catch a wave or three and, while you’re at it, help clean up your favourite beach.
Join Surfrider Foundation Northern Beaches & other surfers & community participants at Fisherman’s Beach, Longreef (between Collaroy and Long Reef Headland, near ‘Brownwater’) Clean-up starts at 2.30pm (Bring gold coin donation, shoes & gloves) RSVP: internationalsurfday@gmail.com or contact Kev on 0404617563 for more info
