Kristy is a 24-year-old ex-Melbournian. She moved to Byron Bay in February 2008 to work for Splendour in the Grass festival. In September 2008 she began working as content manager for Coastalwatch.com, the number one surf forecasting website in Australia. She is now based in Sydney. She’s froths over vans, conservation and the weather. She is a total dork, doesn’t party and loves koalas. She is a keen member of Surfrider Foundation and a Friend of the Prom, Wilsons Promontory National Park in Australia. Her first board was and is a 6′8″ mini-mal given to her by her uncle Len, who has shaped for many years. She also has an 8′2 longboard she calls the Big Banana. In her column you’ll find very random stories about what she has come across and does come across and also a bit of an insight into her sometimes entertaining but generally average Australian life. Some of the things she’s scored herself are an awesome family who she loves and puts first, a cover-story in BRW magazine and Young Citizen of the Year in 2001. One thing she is seeking is more chicks to surf with.
